Overnight Excursions

North - North West

Cape Cross Lodge

Cape Cross Lodge Just an hour’s drive north of Swakopmund and 53km from Henties Bay is the Cape Cross Seal Reserve – the largest mainland breeding colony of the Cape seal in the world. Cape Cross gets its name from a stone pillar erected by Portuguese explorer Diego Cao.

Brandberg Day Visit

A great trip for the more adventurous folk. Head out early morning to arrive at the Brandberg mountain in time for a cup of coffee before starting your days adventures. A notable landmark for early Namibian explorers was a soaring mass of granite, known as The Brandberg. The 'fire mountain', is so called because of the effect created by the setting sun on its western face, which causes the granite massif to resemble a burning slag-heap glowing red.

Hoanib Valley Camp

In a country jam-packed with vast, spectacularly beautiful landscapes, Kaokoland may just be the most incredible of them all. Deep in north-western Namibia, the area is a melee of towering mountains, sand dunes, and huge expanses of desert, scattered with unique wildlife and nomadic Himba settlements. It’s also one of Namibia’s most remote and wild environments, and one that not many will get the chance to discover in a lifetime.

Etendeka Mountain Camp

Dramatically set in the foothills of the Grootberg massif, Etendeka Mountain Camp appeals to the traveller who is prepared to step outside of their comfort zone and experience this remote wilderness with its harsh beauty in an authentic way. Here one is reminded that we are all guests of Mother Nature.

Palmwag Lodge

A paradise on the Uniab River in northwest Damaraland – a vacation opportunity with a difference. Waving palms whispering in the wind, spectacular surroundings which harbour the famous desert elephant, the rare dessert adapted black rhino, giraffe, zebra, gemsbok and many other wild animal species and sunsets to dream of. This is Palmwag Lodge, one of Namibia's oldest and most popular tourist destination.

Shipwreck Lodge

Located in the famous Skeleton Coast concession between the Hoarusib and Hoanib rivers in the Skeleton Coast National Park, Shipwreck Lodge is only 45 km from Möwe Bay. The shipwreck-shaped chalets are nestled between the dunes with a view of the Atlantic Ocean where the cold Benguela current provides guests with a refreshing breeze.

North - North East

Ongava Lodge

Spitzkoppe

Forget lush forests with bird song, if you are a climber, a geologist, a rock hound, or a star gazer, Spitzkoppe is Eden. The diverse and breath-taking landscapes will force your mind to think in vast stretches of time. The Sociable weaver birds build tenement style nests that are occupied for up to a century. The Welwitschia mirabilis plants of the Namib Desert can survive for two thousand years. The Spitzkoppe ("Matterhorn of Namibia") is nearly 700 million years old.

Erongo Wilderness Lodge

There is a special wilderness area, encircled by the Erongo Mountains, where the desert, mountain, and bushveld ecosystems combine. Here, in a secluded valley, you will find twelve luxury tented chalets in a dramatic setting of granite boulders and breathtaking views. Raised wooden walkways and natural stone steps connect the chalets to the main area, where the restaurant, lounge, swimming pool and sundowner deck invite you to relax and fully unwind.

Okonjima Lodge

Okonjima Nature Reserve is equally famed for frequent cheetah and leopard sightings on its safaris, as well as The AfriCat Foundation. Since being founded in 1991, AfriCat’s mission has been to make significant contributions to conservation, while trying to ensure the survival of Namibia’s predators in their natural habitat. It undertakes research, community support and environmental education projects, as well as conservation work to rehabilitate carnivores such as cheetah and hyaena.
